School is like being pecked to death by a chicken

Emily was running to school, she couldn't believe it happened again, she was late but this time she was more then last time. Half way to school, she heard the bell, *Come on.* she said to herself as she ran as fast as she could. The weather was cold, dark grey clouds circled the skies. The wind blew gently as Emily hurried to get to school, hopefully unnoticed. Emily released someone, she forgot her bag at home. *Shit.* she said as she skipped to a stop on the slightly damp sidewalk then started off back to home, Otto was called to help out at a friends house so he would be back late at night, he said that he trusted to keep the house in check and to make sure she wasn't late for school again. Emily turned the corner, almost to her house, she panted as she ran. "Man I am so dead." she said as she finely made it home and went inside, looking for her school bag.

Mimi stood at the head of the class calling out the students names, "Emily Vern?" she got no responce so she repeated herself. still no reply she marked the girl down as absent with a sigh.

Once Emily got her bag and her coat, she headed off to school once more. She couldn't believe how late she was. She skipped around the corner and went to school, she ran down the hallway burst through the door, panting. Emily leaned on her knees as she tried and caught her breath.

Mimi stopped when someone burst through the door. she looked and saw Emily, "nice of you to join us Ms.Vern" she said with a sigh. "Take your seat and i would like to speak with you after school." she said

Emily nodded as she finely caught her breath then took a seat, lucky for her, she was the fastest in her class so she wasn't as late as she thought she would have been.

Mimi continued on with her lesson.

Emily listened to what the teacher was talking about, after a very long time the bell rang for the end of the school day.

Mimi went to her desk and pulled out a sheet of paper as she waited for Emily she started doodling on it. she didn't care how childish it seemed

Everyone but Emily left the class, once the door shut Emily started to apologize non stop.

Mimi laughed softly, "Emily i'm sure you have a good reason for being late.....again..." she said.

"My alarm clock broke again, I don't have any money to get a new one cause my brother is busy for the week." Emily explained.

Mimi nodded, and pulled out her puse and handed the girl some money. "i expect you to be on time tomorrow." Mimi said pushing some of her blonde hair behind her ear

Emily blinked at the money, "Oh no, i can't take this." she said.

"i would like all of my students to make it to my class on time." and put the money in Emily's hand. "i will see you tomorrow Emily." she said

"Yes, Miss." Emily said as she looked down.

Mimi smiled at her, "go have fun." she told

Emily didn't smile, "I am busy though, I need to go clean the house then do homework then make dinner and I don't go out at night."

there was a knock on the door. "come in!" Mimi said. and a female walked in. her long black hair trailed behind her. "here you go Sensei..." she said in a quiet voice. handning Mimi a few pages of paper. Mimi smiled, "Thank you Annette." she said

"Hello." Emily said as she smiled brightly.

Annette gave her a dead look. "hello."

Emily laughed nervously.

Mimi laughed, "don't worry Annette is really shy." she told Emily

*Shes not the only one* Emily thought, "Well I guest i should start going." she said then waved bye to Ann and Mimi.

Annette bowed to Mimi and left. Mimi sighed.

Emily walked to the direction of home, something wasn't right though, she felt like she was being watched.
