Carter handed her a plate, "Hope you like it." he said then started to dig in.

After Carter and Aleda finished, he took their plates in the kitchen.

"Ah." Carter looked at the time, "Well Vanessa and Kevin should be home soon, unless you want to see them? But they are very noise." Carter said referring to their constant arguing.
