| Then I hope you get better soon. I´ve broken my right hand recently. But it´s ok since I can copy all the import things we need to write down during lectures. Riding is a bit difficult but it works with one hand. I just can´t allow to fall off... | |

| I won't. I'm feeling a bit better now.
Okay, so let's do:
" How are you.... ? "
" I'm (fine, okay, doing bad ) "

| Good thing that you´re feeling better now.
How are you? - Wie geht es dir? (Wie geht´s dir?) I´m fine. - Mir geht´s gut. I´m ok. - Mir geht´s so lala. I´m doing bad. - Mir geht´s schlecht. (Mir geht´s nicht so gut.)
We normally don´t say "Mir geht´s schlecht.". It sounds like you need sympathy, so we either say "Mir geht´s nicht so gut." or "Könnte besser sein." as an answer.

| That's a lot to say for simple words... But "Mir geht´s nicht so gut." sounds like " I don't feel so good. " I heard that German words could sound similar to English. | |

| Yeah, that´s true. That´s the reason english is easy to learn, especially for german people. And you said that your people have no problem with learning german, maybe due to that.
It doesn´t just sound like the same, it is the same. As I said, we wouldn´t translate "I´m doing bad" with "Mir geht´s schlecht", so we use a similar phrase.

| I see. Now all I have to do is remember... which is a bit difficult, considering I'm taking Spanish. Think it'll work out? | |

| I think so. Spanish is also an easy language despite of being totally different then the german language. But you can do. The problem in speaking german is the pronunciation and using the right articles. For example, what article would you use for the following nouns? (der = male article, die = female article, das = neuter article)
Katze (cat) Baum (tree) Kind (child)

| Katze- das ( unless you're using male or female cat... ) Baum- das Kind- der or die | |

| Well, that´s what I mean... It drives you crazy as a "non-german".
die Katze der Baum das Kind
I know you tried very hard... Second guess?

| Yeah I'd like to try again. Clearly I need to go back to remembering what to use for nouns from Latin. | |

| I don´t think it would help that much, but you can try. The problem is that there´s no rule you can work with. Let´s try again some simple ones:
Frau (woman) Mann (man) Pflanze (plant)

| That was good, but a plant is "female" in the german language, so you use "die. The rest was right.
Bild (picture) Fernseher (TV) Maus (mouse)

| Wait, so things like trees and plants are female articles? That's... different. I don't think I can get these, the way I'm thinking...
Bild- das Fernseher- das Maus- die

| "You´re quite good already. It´s not a problem of how you´re thinking. Even german people don´t know why to use "die" as the article for "Pflanze". We´re just learning the articles when we´re growing up and, but that´s only a feeling, if the article sounds weird for that noun, we don´t use it... But as I said, that´s only a feeling, because we know most of the articles, not all but most of them..." laughs
You´re right with guessing that "die" is the article for "Maus" and "das" is the aricle for "Bild". It sounds weird if you say "das Fernseher"... it´s "der Fernseher". But you´re pretty good.

| -chuckles-
Thanks. I had to take some time to think about it. This whole thing reminds me of a commercial for a car, and at the end, they say ' Das Auto '. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be German.

"It seems to be ... Well, "das Auto" ... it´s the correct article ... Do you want to guess more articles or do you wanna do something else?
don´t mind me saying "guess", I just think that it´s more like this
